Building My Community

For many years, my life has been largely focused on education, research, teaching, and personal development. While these have shaped who I am today, I have gradually realized that learning and achievement are only part of a fulfilling life. Building meaningful relationships and becoming part of a community are just as important.

After moving to Montréal in 2026, I made building a community one of my current priorities. Beyond exploring a new city, I want to create genuine friendships, meet people with shared interests, and become an active member of the communities around me.

Some of the ways I hope to achieve this include:

  • Joining local running groups and participating in community events.
  • Improving my French through real conversations and everyday interactions.
  • Meeting people who share interests in mathematics, technology, history, travel, fitness, and lifelong learning.
  • Expanding my professional network while also building lasting personal friendships.
  • Participating in local activities that help me better understand the culture and people of Montréal.

I believe that meaningful communities are built over time through shared experiences, curiosity, consistency, and mutual support. Rather than simply collecting acquaintances, my goal is to develop authentic relationships with people who inspire one another to grow.

As with many of my other long-term goals, I view this as an ongoing journey rather than a destination. I hope that, over the coming years, this page will reflect the people, communities, and experiences that become an important part of my life.
